2000HS PLUS

Introduced in 1999, the 2000HS Hepa Shield system represents one of the more powerful certified HEPA air filtration systems in our product line and is used in a wide variety of filtration applications around the world. The 2000HS unit utilizes a 1 HP GE (Genteq) ECM variable speed motor rated at 120/240 volt, 50/60 Hz and provides over 2000 CFM of HEPA filtered air with finite control of volume and speed while using up to 50% less electricity than standard induction motors. The 2000HS units offer true 21st Century digital motor technology that is unavailable in any other system of its size.

Partial By-Pass, In-Line or Stand Alone Configuration - “L” and “S” Versions

The 2000HS unit was designed to be used in a wide range of applications and installation configurations. Either the “L” or “S” versions can be attached to any forced air ducted heating/cooling system in the partial by-pass configuration; in-line in HVAC applications for same air volume applications or stand-alone configurations. While the “L” version is most often used in partial by-pass configurations, the “S” unit can be used as well for situations where the “L” unit will not work. Either the “L” or “S” versions can be used for stand-alone applications.

Controllers for the 2000HS Plus Series Units - HVAC and VCU Controllers

The HVAC controller is most often used when the 2000HS unit (either “L” or “S”) is attached to a heating/cooling system in the partial by-pass configuration. The HVAC controller allows the 2000HS system fan unit to modulate (speed up and ramp down) in conjunction with the HVAC fan/motor operation. For applications where the 2000HS unit is used either in-line with an HVAC system or as a stand-alone unit, the VCU controller is utilized. The VCU controller allows for air flow speed control from 1% of volume to 100% of volume in 1% increments.

Split Housing Design for “L” Unit and Multiple Operations for “S” Unit Allows for Unlimited Installation Variations

The 2000HS “L” unit comes in two separate sections, the top half houses the three filters and the bottom half houses the blower/motor assembly and controller. The top and bottom are symmetrical so they can be rotated in any of four directions for best inlet or discharge configuration. This also allows for best access to the filter section via the filer access door. The “S” unit is a single piece unit that can be mounted horizontally right side up or upside down or in a vertical position.

Three-Stage Filtration

The 2000HS series, like all our systems, use a three-stage filtration process. Each unit includes a commercial grade dual-layer polyester high capacity ring panel that is the first stage of filtration and is designed to remove the larger particles and protect the carbon and HEPA filter. The second stage is the 15lb carbon media that is designed to remove odors and gases. The final stage is the certified, commercial grade, metal framed HEPA filter rated initially at 99.99% at 0.3 microns.

All Carbon Option for Gas and Odor Absorption

For applications where the issue is primarily odors and/or specific gas reduction or removal the 2000HS can be configured with all carbon media in-lieu of the HEPA. The “L” version will accommodate up to 45 lbs of carbon with one pre-filter and the “S” version will accommodate up to 65 lbs of carbon with one pre-filter.

Schools - Day-Care

One of the challenges associated with large groups of people occupying small spaces is the spread of airborne pathogens and allergens from person to person. In small schools or day care centers the 600HS unit could be used to filter the air in each classroom and also introduce some outside air to reduce the CO2 levels in the area. The 2000HS can be installed in either a stand-alone configuration just handling the air in the room by itself or attached in the partial-bypass configuration if a traditional split system HVAC unit is used for heating/cooling of the space.

Retail - Restaurant

Some stores may offer goods or services that either generate a lot of dust or emit a strong odor or smell. If this is the case the 2000HS unit can be used as an all carbon unit for reduction/removal of the odors and gases. If there is smoking allowed in the facility the 600HS can very effectively remove the smoke and the odor.

Medical - Hospital - Patient Care - Pharmacy - MINI-CLINIC - Laboratory

The 2000HS and 2000HS PLUS series units can be used in a wide range of medical applications. Because we use certified 99.99% at 0.3 micron units the systems offer the same filtration capabilities as those used in surgery suites. The 2000HS units can be used to individually filter the air in a patient care room where providing positive or negative pressure through HEPA filtration is required. This is often the case with patient isolation challenges such as TB or immuno suppressed patients.

Pharmacists see many sick customers and are subjected to wide variety of infectious diseases. The 2000HS can be placed so that the counter area can be washed continuously with HEPA filtered air and minimize or reduce the possibility of airborne contamination from customer to Pharmacist.

The number of mini-clinics is expanding rapidly. These are found in large retail establishments (i.e. Walmart) and many of the Pharmacies around the country. They usually have no air filtration systems and the medical personal who staff these clinics are dealing with fairly sick individuals. The 2000HS unit can be used to filter the air in an examination room or area minimizing the spread of airborne pathogens and allergens.

There are thousands of laboratories across the US and many of them are dealing with testing of blood and other body fluids. Forensic labs test all types of chemicals, compounds and highly toxic materials. The 2000HS unit can be used as a stand alone system in these facilities or attached to a dedicated HVAC unit for the laboratory.

In many small hospitals and hospitals overseas, the surgical suites and surgery rooms are not part of a central HEPA filtered air moving or heating/cooling system. For these applications the 2000HS unit can be used as an independent unit to pressurize and filter the surgery room with HEPA filtered air.

Prison - Incarceration and Detention Centers

Often the individuals entering these facilities are indigent and may have some type of communicable disease (i.e. TB) and they have isolation rooms or processing areas where they can use the 2000HS unit to provide HEPA filtered air for both filtering the air and making the room either negative or positive (depending upon the situation) to protect the staff an other inmates.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Pharmaceutical manufacturing requires extremely clean environments and in the manufacturing process there are very high levels of drug compounds which can be toxic. The 2000HS can be used in various aspects of the manufacturing process and in some of the clean room areas that are part of the process.

Bio-Science – Life Science Industries

The development of DNA based drugs, biologicals and bio-storage require extremely clean work environments to eliminate cross contamination from drug to drug and to protect the technicians. The 2000HS HEPA filtration system is used in these applications as a stand-alone system. We can maintain a clean room level of better than class 1,000.

Clean Rooms

In many cases a customer requires a “clean room” environment for their specific application. Clean rooms are normally identified by a class rating. For example a class 100 clean room means the air inside the room must be at 100 particles per cubic foot at 0.3 microns. When properly applied, the 2000HS unit can meet and maintain clean room levels at class 1000 or better.

Micro Chip Manufacturing

Most micro chip manufacturers require a clean room environment. The 2000HS can provide for a very clean environment or manufacturing area in which the chips are either manufactured or tested.

Government - Military - Aerospace:

The 2000HS unit is used in applications where sophisticated, sensitive guidance systems are developed and manufactured. These systems are assembled in clean room environments to minimize any contamination from dust and dirt in the environment.

The 2000HS is also used in applications in the manufacture of fine, precision optics. These operations are often associated with military or aerospace applications.

Food Processing - Bottling - Packaging

In many food processing plants where they are mixing, cutting, baking or packaging there are a number of process areas where a certain “clean room” level needs to be maintained. The 2000HS unit can be mounted close to or in proximity to the area where HEPA filtered air is required. Some applications require a room or large enclosed area to be pressurized with HEPA filtered air to produce a “class” clean room environment.

Many bottling operations need to have the filling and/or capping process be enclosed in a HEPA filtered environment to eliminate any airborne contaminants from entering the bottle or liquid filled containers especially for beverages and liquids for human consumption.
