Perhaps the one of the most famous songs by the “Boss”, Bruce Springsteen, this tune was a symbol for everything “American.”  Just like GM’s tag line, “Built In The USA”, these words were part of the fabric that made Americans believe there was nothing we couldn’t do better than anyone else. And for a long time that was mostly true.

While we still want to believe that products made in the US are better than foreign built products, the fact is many of the most often used mechanical, digital and technical products used by Americans are made overseas. Today, no cell phones, computers, TV’s or digital communication devices are made here. Some of the design may be done in the US, but all of the end products are produced somewhere else. And, much of the new digital and mechanical products are being invented in countries outside the US.

Pure Air Systems has been manufacturing its line of HEPA and Carbon, fan powered, commercial grade air filtration systems here in the US since 1985. Since the first product came off the manufacturing floor, a “Made In The USA” label was put on each and every system shipped to both the distributors as well as end users. In 1985 all of the components used to fabricate the HEPA systems were made in the US. Many of them by small, family operated businesses.

Today, the complete line of HEPA, Carbon and air filtration products are still fabricated in the US. Some of the US based companies that supply components have outsourced their manufacturing overseas. Still, over 70% of the component parts are fabricated here in the US. It is evident that more companies are leaving their design and engineering operations here but fabricating in countries where labor costs are lower.

Pure Air Systems continues to search for best available, highest quality products to maintain its performance edge over the competition. And we continue to put the “Made In The USA” labels on all of our products. We have no intention of having the systems made anywhere but here even though almost 20% of systems are shipped outside the US.
