The Chevy Nova was made in the early 60’s through part of the 70’s and was somewhat popular as a mid sized, low cost vehicle. This car also had many mechanical issues and was dropped from the line up only to be resurrected as the Chevy Citation in the 80’s. Different design, same issues. When the Japanese entered the US car market they were surprised that General Motors ad chosen the name Nova because in Japanese this word means NO GO. This should have been a warning to GM not to use that name.

When Pure Air Systems came out with their HEPA filtration systems in 1985, the units were considered too expensive and the existing furnace type media filters were considered the best filters on the market. Ozone generators and Ion Generators were also sold as high efficiency air filter systems and were much less expensive than the HEPA units. However, like the Nova, these general duty air filtration filters and mechanical systems did not work as promised and are still sold today to unsuspecting consumers.

The fan powered, commercial grade HEPA filtration systems by PAS are considered some of the best overall HEPA systems on the market. And, Pure Air Systems, Inc. is one of only 3 companies in the world that make this type of HEPA system with a wide range of sizes and housing configurations. The PAS line offers systems that range from 50 CFM to 2000 CFM using new ECM variable speed drive motors.

About the Author: Don Musilli

My name is Don Musilli. I started Pure Air Systems in 1985 and then sold it in 2006. I continue to consult for PAS and write their blog and control their Twitter account. I also, on occasion, make changes to the website. The company is now almost 26 years old and has been a major player in offering commercial grade, high performance HEPA and Carbon based filtration systems for the commercial, institutional, industrial and residential markets.

I currently reside in Englewood, Florida where I write blogs and do social media marketing for a number of clients.
