Tesla has been incorporating true HEPA filters along with standard filters in all of their cars and the Cybertruck. These are installed as a method of both keeping hazardous particulate from entering the interior of the car and maintaining an allergy free environment. They even have a setting in case there is a nuclear incident where the car maintains a sealed off interior from exterior elements.

HEPA filters have been around for many years and were first developed during the initial phases of creating the bombs used on Hiroshima. These specially designed filters utilize a special wet – layed paper like material that is extremely dense. It is then folded into an accordion style format to allow for greater filter surface area in a small envelope. Most HEPA suppliers use either aluminum or glues to keep the pleats separate and rigid. These HEPA filters come in various sizes to fit a wide variety of applications including medical, chip manufacturing, clean rooms, surgery suites, pharmaceutical manufacturing and some food processing applications.

HEPA filters are relatively expensive and usually come in a metal frame or stiff cardboard frame for some applications. The Tesla HEPA filters use a stiff paper frame to allow for some flexibility in inserting the HEPA filter into the appropriate slots. The normal life of the HEPA in the Tesla is approximately two years as the HEPA is preceded by a general duty filter to keep the HEPA clean and only allow the very tiny particles to enter the HEPA.

Pure Air Systems has been manufacturing HEPA filter systems since 1985 and is now only one of three companies in the world that make a fan powered, commercial grade HEPA system that includes prefilters and carbon media along with the HEPA. These units range in air flow capacity form 50 CFM to 2,000 CFM and use variable speed drive motors that are programmable and can be operated remotely from a phone app. For more information on the complete line of HEPA systems please go to our website at;  http//:www.pureairsystems.com  or call us on our toll free number at:  800-869-8025.

My name is Don Musilli. I started Pure Air Systems in 1985 and then sold it in 2006. I continue to consult for PAS and write their blog and control their Twitter account. I also, on occasion, make changes to the website. The company is now almost 26 years old and has been a major player in offering commercial grade, high performance HEPA and Carbon based filtration systems for the commercial, institutional, industrial and residential markets.

I currently reside in Englewood, Florida where I write blogs and do social media marketing for a number of clients.
