HEPA Filters In Tesla EV’s
In the last few years Tesla has introduced their Bioweapon Defense Mode in their car line up. This systems is designed to use the fans to pressurize the interior so that when you are in a location where this is a lot of smoke or chemical odor you can quickly prevent that contaminant from coming into the car.
In order to accomplish this, Tesla has included a prefilter, Carbon Media Filter and a True HEPA filter. These three filters combined will remove 99% of all the contaminants that may enter the interior of the car. No other car or truck on the road has this special filtration mode included with their cars.
HEPA filters are used extensively in clean rooms ( chip making facilities ) and in Hospital surgery suites, pharmaceutical industries, optics manufacturing and residential applications. These are fairly expensive filters and they are made from special materials so they can capture up to 99.995% of all particles 0.3 microns and and larger. The prefilters are used to capture the larger particles and the Carbon media will adsorb the chemical odors.
