Only 3 Companies Like This In The World

When Pure Air Systems was established in 1985, there were a number of companies selling HEPA like and HEPA type air filtration systems. Many of these were used in the Asbestos Abatement projects that were prevalent at that time. In fact, Pure Air Systems was a spin-off from HEPA unit designed for abatement but never got into production.

The model 600H unit was a unit with a prefilter, carbon media filter and true commercial grade HEPA filter with a 1/3HP GE motor and Lau Blower. It was in one large section which was subsequently broken into two sections. This was the beginning of the PAS Line of HEPA systems.

As the popularity of the 600H unit grew, PAS introduced the new ECM motors from GE to make the HEPA system available as a stand alone unit as well as using variable speed motors that were then being introduced by all the HVAC companies.

By 1999 PAS had grown the line from one unit to seven different systems including the new portable unit. It has also moved into a new 9,000 square foot building. As of this date, 90% of the units are still built with parts made in the USA and it is now one of only 3 companies in the world that make this type of HEPA with the size and flexibility in size range and air flow control.

The Price You Pay For Performance

Amazon and other online stores have created a scenario where people look at items that seem to be similar with various pricing. This has led people to believe that all products are similar and price becomes the deciding factor. For the manufacturers of these products it is difficult to up sell the their products. People will typically go to the best priced selection and read some reviews then make their choice. It is for this reason that many of the companies that make high-end products or products with proven superior performance elect not to market their products on Amazon and other similar online websites. They, instead, market them on their own websites.

So, for the astute buyer, often times you are better served to purchase the products from your selected company product website. They may charge a little more and often don’t offer free shipping, but their products are usually far superior and will last and perform better than many of those lesser expensive copies from your favorite online store.

Pure Air Systems has been offering their products online since 1990. Their commercial grade, fan-powered HEPA air filtration systems are some of the best in the world. With an average operating time of 15 to 20 years, these made in the US systems perform as advertised and the service from PAS is second to none.

Commercial HEPA Air Filtration Systems

Started in 1985, Pure Air Systems has been making commercial grade, fan-powered, true HEPA air filtration systems for over 38 years. The same high quality metal fabricated housings used then are still used today. High quality ECM motors and metal framed HEPA filters along with carbon media and ring panel prefilters are all part of the various systems offered by Pure Air Systems.

PAS makes units a number of systems ranging in air flow from 50 CFM up to 2000 CFM. These units are configured so they can be mounted either as stand-alone units or as part of an existing, ducted HVAC system. The powder coated painted 16 gauge steel housings can be mounted in side or outdoors depending upon the application.

The ECM motors provide for variable speed control using digital controllers or run by a computer system. In addition, they can be used in a a120 volt 60Hz electrical system or 240 volt 50 Hz system. This means they can be use in any location around the world.

HEPA filters are the best method of removing over 99.9995% of all particles 0.3 microns in size and larger and approach 99.99% for particles as small as 0.12 microns. They are used in all hospital and medical facilities and in commercial, military and residential markets.

Embraceable Ewe

There are stories and anecdotes galore based on one of the more popular farm animals…sheep.  Some of them are funny and others down-right bawdy, but overall most people picture the sheep as one of those soft, cuddly, counting-to-go-to-sleep animals. Most of us have at one time or another purchased some woolen piece of clothing or have found memories of your mother or grand mother knitting you a pair of woolen mittens. Makes you wonder why they didn’t name these animals Wools rather than Sheep.

Perception is a powerful tool. Companies that tout their abilities to help  you develop your Brand are really good at getting the public to perceive you and your company as experts in your field. They develop a series of stories, promotions, blogs, advertisements, social media content and YouTube videos that constantly blast their customers “Halo” effect to the public. Hoping that if you see their name and product often enough from every corner of the  marketing world you will eventually assume this company must be good because everyone is talking about them. Like I said, perception is a powerful tool.

Pure Air Systems has been manufacturing commercial grade, certified HEPA based air filtration systems since 1985. In those days it was difficult to get information into the hands of the public without advertising or getting some press releases in the trade journals. The internet was still 10 years away from becoming any viable marketing tool. So PAS got the word out the old fashioned way…..performance.

The problem with performance as the primary marketing tool is that it takes time for the news about the systems to spread out the national market. It is funny how good news travels slowly and bad news travels quickly. As the information about the PAS HEPA systems spread, more people began to order the units and in a few years the HEPA Shield systems were well known in the commercial and residential markets. As the ability to promote the overall benefits and features of through the internet became a reality PAS began to get more requests for information about their systems from countries around the world.  Over time, and with new innovations and models being added on a regular basis, PAS developed a reputation for providing some of the best, high performance, reliable HEPA air filtration systems on the planet.

Today, Pure Air Systems has over 8 different HEPA and Carbon based products designed for almost any application where the removal of a high percentage of sub-micron airborne pathogens, allergens and particulate are required. The new variable speed ECM motors now used throughout the PAS line are rated 120/240 volt, 50/60 Hz and can be used anywhere in the world. PAS has uniquely crossed the line between reality and perception. In their case they are synonymous.

Wired

The word wired has a number of meanings. It can be used to describe how one feels after drinking four cups of coffee in an hour or after eating two or three Twinkies for lunch ( not recommended). Sometimes wired is used as a prefix term such as “that guy or girl was really wired in.”  Meaning tuned in or right on really understands the message. It is also the name of a very popular “avant garde” magazine that describes the future of technology.  Wired is a positive word and not often used to describe a company, but we will do that now.

Pure Air Systems started making HEPA and Carbon based air filtration systems in 1985. They philosophy of the company was then and still is today, to make the best commercial grade, certified HEPA systems on the market and incorporate only the best, most reliable components in the fabrication and assembly of the systems.

Early on its development, PAS was wired into the whole issue of what was then called “Environmental Illness,” or EI. Back in the early 80’s most building materials for homes, offices and schools were still being made with formaldehyde laced glues and substrates along with very limited fresh air ventilation for their HVAC systems. PAS was very involved with a number of organizations that were very vocal about the continuing health problems associated with short term and long term exposure to airborne gases and particulates.

Because HEPA filters, at that time, were still primarily used only in the electronics and hospital markets, the average  homeowner had little knowledge of the overall capabilities of what HEPA filters could do. And, PAS was very wired in to the capabilities of using granular activated carbon and blended medias for the reduction and removal gaseous pollutants. PAS experimented with a number of suppliers of carbon to find the best carbon product that would both work well in their systems as well as provide the needed performance demanded by their customers.

Since the major distribution for the PAS systems early on was using HVAC contractors, Pure Air Systems was wired in to the issues with the lack of fresh air in most building structures and the direct relationship between this issue and environmental illness. As a result of these business relationships PAS was able to develop a concept using its wide range of HEPA based air filtration systems to allow for both total filtration of the indoor environment as well as the introduction of fresh, filtered outside air. This partial by-pass concept has proven to be one of the most successful methods of providing an environmentally safe and healthy indoor environment in homes, offices, schools, hospitals and small industrial facilities.

Fish Or Get Off The Pot

Don’t you just hate it when someone is trying to make an important point and they use the wrong phrase or terminology and the whole conversation goes down the drain. Using mixed metaphors can do that to you. Once you do it, you lose all credibility. It’s happened to me and I’m sure on occasion it has happened to you.

Giving a presentation on your company’s product or service in front of an audience, whether it’s 3 people or 30, requires some preparation and practice along with a great power point presentation. Without the practice or the right tools the entire message can get lost in the shuffle. So to speak.

I think you get my point. Getting the correct information in the correct manner and style appropriate for your audience is critical to making a lasting impression. But more importantly, when you have a captive audience full of potential buyers you need to nail it. After all, in today’s difficult economic climate, you need all the new business you can get because it’s a jungle out there.

When writing the text for the Pure Air Systems website, it was decided that the material would be geared more toward education and indoctrination of all things “air filtration” and “IAQ,” rather than a “let me tell you what I’m going to do,” sales type pitch. The current website is a direct result of that process. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t start out that way. But this is now the 7th iteration of the site and  all the changes were made as a direct result of customer feedback.

When dealing with technical terms and products, it is important to look at your audience as novices when it comes to your particular product or service. Just because someone uses a similar product or service doesn’t necessarily mean they actually understand how it works or why it works.  And, if they don’t understand the basics they can easily be swayed into buying some other product that claims to be as good or better than yours but is less expensive. Education is the key.

When you go to the Pure Air Systems website you will find an easily navigable site, with tabs that indicate exactly what they are and the information under the tabs is in sync with the tab names. Additionally, the information in the “Pure Air University” section is specifically written for the laymen as well as the knowledgeable. It doesn’t get any better than that.

So, if you are at wits end, and you want information that separates the men from the boys, the wheat from the chaff, and puts you in a better light, then go to our website for information on the best HEPA air filtration systems on the planet. You’ll be glad you did. Find us at: www.pureairsystems.com. Or call us at: 800-869-8025. Thanks a bunch!

Bak to Skool

I do a lot of writing and publish a number of blogs on-line. I am always careful to check the spelling and punctuation since these types of mistakes will often make the reader less interested in the material. So it really bugs me when I see so many people, many highly educated, misspell a word or use a word incorrectly. And, as a result of so many of us using texting tools like our smart phones, iPads, tablets, Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc., we tend to use a “short hand” approach to form a sentence or thought. Hence the use of this title for the blog.

The problem isn’t that we do it…the problem is we accept it as a normal method of communication. And to a certain extent I understand the rationale. I use Twitter a lot and you have to be very creative to make a point with just 140 characters and include a link. But the problem extends itself into the way we now gather information and educate ourselves about someone or some thing. I have found, for example, that writing a blog that is under 500 words gets more reads than one that is 600 words long. It seems that people want to be informed in 500 words or less….even better if you just show a picture with a short caption. This is why it is so difficult these days to get someones attention long enough to make a significant point or properly inform.

Pure Air Systems has a web site that is designed to cover all aspects of readers attentions spans. We have a quick info section that allows you to see a photo of the product with 3 to 4 sections of information that can be selected with one click of the mouse. This information is short and to the point.  If you want more information you can go to other sections in the site that provide more details on the products and their applications and our installation guide.

However, the area that gets the most action is our “Pure Air University” section. This has a number of “chapters” covering all aspects of Indoor Air Quality, basics of air filtration, ventilation, motor design, etc.  This section provides a lot of basic knowledge that allows the end user to become better educated and thus allows them to make a more informed decision.

We also have a section that allows the end user or contractor to pose a specific problem or question. We read these daily and respond within 24 hours with an answer.  They can also pose questions on our Facebook page or through Twitter. Of course we have an 800 phone number they can call during office hours. Interestingly most people and contractors prefer to contact us via email or through the social media programs. And, many of those “digital” contacts are made on their mobile devices. Which means they want a quick, short answer. We will try our best.

For more information you can contact us at: www.pureairsystems.com, Facebook.com/pureairsystems, @pureairsystems. This is 500 words.

The Future Is The Past

It has been said that advancements in technology doubles every five years. If the changes in digital communications is any indication of what is happening then that statement is probably correct. We used to have a few years, at least, to adapt to and learn to use new devices and processes. Today things are changing every six months. Or so it seems. For some of us the constant changes are exciting. But for many people the rapid changes clash with their thoughts of how things used to be.

While changes in technology will continue to make extraordinary advances, some things don’t change. Health care problems, for example, are still an issue and those people that suffer from allergies, asthma and airborne contaminants seem to be a constant. With all the advancements in medicine, the ability to cure the common cold or eliminate allergy issues continues to evade us. While there are newer anti-histamines and allergy medicines, people still suffer from all the old symptoms.

The changes in air filtration systems designed to eliminate or reduce airborne contaminants have made some advancements. However,  for the most part, the technology  to capture particles on a filtration media is still basically the same. Some technologies such as electronic air cleaners and HEPA filters have been around for over 50 years. HEPA filters, for example, were developed in 1941 and have set the standard for removal of fine, sub-micron airborne particles.

HEPA filters have undergone some major advancements in HEPA paper design. HEPA filters now share the stage with their cousins ULPA and SULPA. While the standard HEPA filter, which has a standard efficiency of removing particles 0.3 microns or less at 99.97%. The ULPA filters and SULPA filters have efficiencies as high as 99.99995% at 0.12 microns.

Pure Air Systems has been using HEPA filters as their standard media since 1985. Today, all of the HEPA filters used in the PAS systems are scanned HEPA filters, meaning they are 99.99% efficient on all particles 0.3 microns or larger. With over 25 years of experience and thousands of systems installed around the world, Pure Air Systems continues to keep the same high performance standards established at their origin.

It is interesting to note that when PAS introduced HEPA filters to the residential and light commercial markets in 1985, few people knew about these filters. Only the electronics and nuclear industries were actually using these filters. Today, Pure Air Systems customer list reads like the Fortune 500. Pharmaceutical, laboratory, military, government, institutional, micro-chip, optical, medical and many other types of companies use the PAS HEPA systems for critical manufacturing and processing operations.

Homeowners who have been dealing with allergy problems have found some relief in utilizing one of the many HEPA systems offered by PAS. The new HPS 350 and HPS 500 portable units now provide the same commercial grade HEPA filtration for small areas and individual rooms in homes and offices. Fresh Air

When we hear the term “fresh air” we often think about being outside next to the ocean feeling the breeze or on top of a mountain breathing the cool, crisp air. Or, when you are stuck indoors in a building or home for long periods of time you might say, “I’m going outside to get some fresh air.” If we really believe the air is better outside, why do we spend so much time indoors? And, more importantly, what is fresh air?

In reality the term “Fresh Air” is really a misnomer. While it is true that air outdoors is not prone to have that “stale air” smell you have indoors due to lack of ventilation, the levels of airborne contaminants and gaseous molecules outdoors is often not any lower. Yes, that is correct. Depending upon where you are outdoors the levels of harmful airborne particulate and gaseous pollutants can be extremely high.

You already know that during the spring and fall of the year various grasses, weeds, trees, etc. produce pollen of all sorts creating significant allergic reactions and health problems. Is this fresh air? You are outside…aren’t you? Or if you are in a downtown area of a large city you can sometimes feel some stinging in you eyes and throat. That’s usually caused by the high levels of gases such as nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide and hydrocarbons from all the vehicles. Of course you also have all the airborne particulate that is produced by tires grinding dirt into sub-micron particles. So now that we have identified fresh air let’s take a look at the process of using outside air for ventilation and reduction of CO2 in homes and buildings.

Pure Air Systems has been manufacturing HEPA and Carbon based fan powered, commercial grade air filtration systems since 1985. These units were not only designed to filter the air in a room, home or commercial facility but also to concurrently introduce small amounts of outside air and filter that air prior to introducing it to the indoor environment. As we mentioned before, the term fresh air is really a misnomer. Unless the outside air source is filtered prior to mixing with the indoor environment, it is not fresh air.

The PAS product line is capable of introducing high percentages of outside air that is filtered by three different medias. First there is a polyester dual-layer ring panel filter that is designed to take out the larger particles. Second the carbon media removes many of the odors and gases. Third, is the HEPA filter itself which is a certified HEPA rated at 99.99% removal of all particles 0.3 microns and larger. This three stage filtration ensures that any outside air will be in actuality, “Fresh Filtered Air.”

So the next time you hear the term fresh air remember there are levels of fresh air and you need to make sure that you use the right filtration process to ensure you and your family are breathing fresh air.

The Life Of Riley

William Bendix was first introduced as the bumbling husband who was a riveter for an Aircraft company in California. It is somewhat of an oxymoron that the show was called the Life of Riley, which really refers to someone with money and who has few cares in the world. Riley’s life was just the opposite. Money was always an issue and he had challenges with all of his friends and especially his wife Babs. Riley’s famous line was, ” What a revoltin development this is!” You have to hand it to him, he was honest to a fault.

We all like our lives to be simple, with minimal challenges and drama and yet sometimes the simplest thing will interrupt our perfect world. Like going outside in the Spring time to enjoy the beautiful weather after a nasty winter only to find that the pollen and ragweed levels have gone through the roof. Or all that rain you had to help your drought stricken lawn after a hot dry summer has found its way into a small hole in the roof and now water is in the walls of your house and so is the mold.

Changes that affect our health seem to be more challenging than most other problems we incur. The people at Pure Air Systems understand these issues. With over 25 years of experience in dealing with hundreds of different airborne pollutant problems and installing  thousands of air filtration systems installed around the world, PAS has the answer to your allergy or air pollution problem.

Beginning in 1985, Pure Air Systems started manufacturing commercial grade, certified HEPA based air filtration systems for the residential, commercial and institutional markets. Today, PAS is considered one of the leaders in high performance HEPA and Carbon based, fan powered air filtration systems. Their system range in air volume from 50 CFM to 2000 CFM. The new, smaller portable unit can produce over 400 CFM from a unit only 13″ high and 21″ long. The larger systems can either be attached to an existing HVAC system or used as stand-alone units.

The combination of employing  HEPA filters, Carbon media and polyester ring-panel prefilters makes these systems some of the most effective in the world in removing and reducing high levels of sub-micron particulate, odors and gases. In addition, the motors used in the PAS systems are rated 120/240 volt, 50/60 Hz so they can be used in commercial applications and are completely adaptable to all the electrical systems used around the world.
